About the Location – Zanika Lache

Maian Meadows Dog Camp takes place in June and September at Camp Zanika Lache, a Campfire camp, on the beautiful shores of Lake Wenatchee. The accommodations are rustic, bunk-style cabins. The cabins have electricity, but no plumbing. Bathrooms are located in community areas of the camp. Cafeteria style meals are included.

Both dogs and people attending camp should get along with others, even when groups of people and dogs run up to greet them boisterously. Not to worry – most of the human campers draw the line at sniffing butts. If your dog does well in an off-leash dog park setting with various sized dogs, they will probably enjoy dog camp. For more information on ascertaining if your dog would enjoy dog camp, check out this article.

Structured activities, which you choose to participate in or not (although it’s a lot more fun if you do!) include games with your dog, a costume contest, dog-related limerick/poetry/lyrics contest, and more. Unstructured activities include hiking and playing fetch on the shores of the lake. We usually have a life guard reserved as well, so people can swim as well – weather permitting.
